I have not seen any discussion on the snag I am having now. You see I used an 1850 diesel "wheatland" frame (In canada row crops are rare) for the perkins conversion on my 1855 mfd which had a frame like the row crop. Everything worked except now the front of the hood sticks up about 6 inches higher than at the cab. The cab is straight but the front of the tractor looks like it is going uphill.
From my measurements and observations I have surmised that the wheatland is basically the same as far as the transmission/ rearend are concerned.
The engine is still in the same place and so on. What they basically did is for the wheatland is they added a wedge on top approx. 5.5" at the front tapering to 0" toward the back. This had the effect of raising the grill that amount to make the hood level when the lower axle is used. To make it work they lengthened the rad filler tube and added to the intake and exhaust and likely tilted the fuel tank up. On a wheatland you would see the extra space above the engine and rad.
One obvious solution is to change the frame but I don"t want to do that all over again. I have devsed a shortcut: I think if I can shorten the grill, cut the rad tube shorter, and make adjustments to the exhaust + intake and change the fuel tank bracket I can the make hood level and lower again. I know the frame will still be inclined but that is not a big deal for an mfd.
I was wondering if anyone else here has encoutered this or even some tips would be nice.

I guess I learned something here. I knew the tub was wider, but not the height part of it. The Wheatland front frame is the same as the industrial front frame. Let us know how it works out for you.
