Does anyone have any history of Oliver in Kansas City? What about Nichols & Shepard in Kansas City? I own the Nichols & Shepard building in Kansas City. It was built in 1880. Oliver Plow Works built the building next door. Any and all info would be of help. Thanks. |

I don't have any info. But you can try going to www.centerforhistory.org and try asking them. They are located in South Bend, Indiana, at the former Oliver mansion. |

Here is a response I got from BA Star. Oliver had a Branch in the Fairfax district of Kansas City, Kansas. It was located several blocks south of the BPO assembly plant. I can not tell you the address, however it was on the North East side of the intersection. The Oliver KC Branch was closed at the end of the 1970 business year and merged into the Branch in Omaha. The building housed the Minneapolis Moline Branch during 1971. Perhaps you are referring to a building that was used prior to the location that I am aware of.

Yes, the Oliver building I am referring was at 13th & Hickory in the West Bottoms (stockyard district). |
