I am new to Oliver tractors and have recently purchased an 1850 of mid-sixties vintage. the hydraulic system is empty and I need to refill it. The old Oliver manual with the tractor suggests either 10w engine oil or ATF type F. Can I use a universal hydraulic instead so to make it compatible with my other equipment? |

Yes you can. I want to caution you the dip stick does not come close to toughing the bottom of the reservoir. Add a gallon and see, also have the 3 point down when you check it. Change the filter while you are at it. Contamination is one of hydraulic systems largest killers. Questions |
