sure the duties required of me are done in a timely, professional matter. What makes it easy is that I can hand out these jobs to people more qualified to do them if necessary. So watch out, I might be asking you to write an article for the newsletter! - Chris Losey

Activities Director:
The Oliver Gang experienced another enjoyable year. The Fort Wayne Farm Show was in mid-January. The indoor tractor show at Auburn, IN was in  March hosted by the Maumee Valley Antique Steam and Gas Association.
Gary and Sue Cleaver and family near Delphi, IN, hosted a very enjoyable Spring Fling in April complete with dinner music by a country and gospel band. Dixie Taggart recreated a May Pole of her childhood and printed the history of the May Pole. Ken and Ruth Parrish had painted the poles and bases ahead of time. The ladies were very proud of their pretty, decorated May Poles they created.
There were also various come-if-you-can Oliver Shows during the summer.
The Oliver Gang's 10th Anniversary Party and Summer Show with over 110 Hart Parr, Oliver and Cletracs was held at Van Wert, Ohio, July 4th weekend. The American Legion banquet tables looked very patriotic with the American Flags. These flags joined Dixie Taggart's beautiful Oliver Flags that were then set in outstanding flag holders that were designed and made by John and Betty Faust. It was during the banquet that Margaret and I, and our family were presented with the Oliver Gang's "Family of the Year" award.
In August we had a very successful bus trip to the HPOCA National Summer Show at Antique Acres near Cedar Falls, Iowa. We also enjoyed seeing and hearing about the famous "Little Brown Church in the Wildwood" at Nashua, Iowa. A tour of the great Floyd County Museum at Charles City, Iowa was also one of the highlights of the trip. In Burr Oak Iowa, we toured the Masters Hotel where the famous writer of the Little House on the Prairie books, Laura Ingalls Wilder lived with her family when she was nine years old.
Ken and Pat Guile planned a great Plow Day near Clio, MI at the Mid-Michigan Antique Machinery Association show. Some of the women went shopping at the world famous Bronners Christmas store at Frankenmuth.
Jim and Barbara Brown and family's heated shop came alive with unique, artistically (one of a kind) designed pumpkins decorating the tables. There was also a ghost covered tree. There was lots of good food, games, and fellowship at our annual Halloween Party, on October 26th, 2002.
We want to thank each family and those who helped make these events successful and for all who attended. Also a special thank you to Chris and Becky Losey for the information and pictures on the internet and these great newsletters! The Oliver Gang is very lucky to have you.--
Bill Gamble

Nominating Director:
Looking back on 2002, I recall the Spring Fling and being elected to the Board of Directors. I feel honored to be a member of such an elite group. This job gives me the opportunity not only to talk with my friends, but to hear them say, yes or no, when I ask them to be a candidate for the board in 2003. Elections will be held at the Spring Fling, this year in April. There are 3 positions up for election this year. Please call me if you can be a candidate.--John Faust, 765-981-4498.
