The Oliverettes of 2000
Plow Day at Clio, MI
September 21, 2002
By Barb Brown
What a
wonderful Plow Day the Oliver Gang ladies had. It started out a cool September
morning. The ladies would like to thank Kathy Mitchell for allowing us to
meet in her motor home. We quickly caught up on what each lady had been up
to over the summer. Jessie Schaeffer had broken her arm but managed not to
destroy a wall this time. Mildred Mitchell had broken her ankle and we got
an update on Pat Ewen and Mary Ellen Livingston who were both unable to attend.
We then car pooled to Frankenmuth where we spent as much time as we dared
shopping and eating at Bonners Christmas shops. Due to the business meeting
and CAKE AND ICE CREAM, we had to depart Bronners and return to Plow Day.
We returned ON TIME, shopping bags full of goodies in our hands and big smiles
on our faces.
After the meeting and the CAKE AND ICE CREAM, we held a short ladies meeting.
Everyone was to bring suggestions as to what we would name our group. Becky
Losey suggested and we all agreed to "The Oliverettes of 2000". So this is
our new name and you need to watch for it to be posted in places around camps
and shows.
SUNSHINE
CHAIRETTE: The Board
set the guidelines for us to use in the future. We will spend up to $40.00
for flowers to be sent due to the death of a member, their spouse, child
or parent. The Sunshine Chairwoman is to set up an account in TOG name and
bills are to be sent to TOG treasurer. The Sunshine Chairwoman will also
send a card from TOG due to a death, accident or illness. A phone chain has
been set up with the ladies who wish to be involved. If you should hear of
someone that needs to be remembered in some way, please call Becky at 517-857-4042.
Or if your name is not on the list and you wish to be included, give Becky
a call.
CRAFTS
& DECORATIONS CHAIRETTE: Dixie Taggart had some of her great ideas for crafts with her
for us to see. She will be working on a craft for the Spring Fling 2003 to
be held at Jim Horton's in Owosso, MI. If anyone has any ideas, be sure to
see Dixie.
NEW MERCHANDISE
CHAIRETTE: Mildred Mitchell
is heading up this job. Some suggestions were brought to the last Board meeting
by Bev Snyder and the Board is considering these items. One was bottled water
with the Oliver Gang label on it. A tractor shaped yard ornament and a sun
catcher with a tractor on it were other items the Board is considering. If
these items are approved, we may need some help with painting, etc. If you
have any suggestions, please pass them on to Mildred at 269-746-4566.
