BERNE METAL WORKER MAKES OLIVER REPLACEMENT PARTS
Written by
Ken Parrish
I have met an interesting fellow who has a talent to make unavailable tractor
parts. His name is Dan Lehman. Dan is a great metal worker.
He used the seat back from Brother John's Oliver 70 and the seat brackets
from my Oliver 60 as the sample pieces. Then, he made a complete Oliver
replacement seat that looks original.
Since that first Oliver job, Dan has made other Oliver replacement parts
I've needed in my restoration projects. He has made a baffle plate,
another seat, and a pedal lock.
He has been working with metal all of his life. He received training
in his Dad's metal manufacturing shop. Dan's joy is the challenge in
making difficult pieces or no longer available parts.
Dan does fine work and takes pride in his work. He makes and sells
camp grills, rocking chairs, beds, and snowplows for toy tractors, too.
Dan and his wife, Janice, reside in Berne, Indiana. They have two
teenagers, Heath and Haleigh.
If you have any questions or interest in his work, write or call Dan.
His address is
356 West Wabash,
Berne,
Indiana 46711
PH: 219.589.8348
I recommend him.
