I am starting to put engine together but wrist pins don't fit in bushings...book says something about sizing them how is that done?other thing is ones that came out were 2 piece all bronze and new ones are 1 piece and not all bronze..did I get sent wrong bushings?thanks Jim |

oh yeah..it is a S-55 gas 4cyl 1956 (I think) |

The original wrist pin bushings were all bronze. Sometime within a year of when your tractor was made they went to a steel backed bronze bushing, still two per rod. The one piece is a must on the larger engines and will work on your engine. They are fit by taking them to an automotive machine shop and having then honed. Clearance on them is less than one thousands of an inch. Also get the big end of the rod sized too while you are working on it. Questions? |

what do you mean on big end??Where it goes to crankshaft?I had crank turned down and got oversized bearings with kit |

Yes. The end that goes over the crank. The tollerance is 1/2 thousands of ab inch. They strech and go out of round. You should get them checked. Undersize ( not oversize-a common misconception) have nothing to do with that. Questions? |
