Hi I am soon awaiting arrival of rebuild kit..Just wondering about cam bearing removal and liner fit..the lower portion of block where liners go is a bit pitted is that going to give me trouble with clearance on top?if so should I use a small amount of belzone to smooth out pitted areas?...Thank you....Jim

I don't see where it will give problems up top. But if any of the pits are down by where the o-rings seat, you're bound to get leaks. If they are higher, it's still best to smooth them up so they don't cut the o-rings when you slide the sleeves in. I have heard of guys using JB Weld to fill in the pits. I haven't tried it, so I don't know how well it will work. Usually a wire brush on a small drill followed by some emery cloth smooths things up nicely

Be sure to use dish soap to lube up the o-rings on the sleeves. Oil is a no-no in this situation. The sleeves should push in by hand. If not, something is wrong.
