You have to push that lever with about 40 +/- pounds of force to engage the over-center clutch. It will make a snap noise when PTO clutch is fully engaged. If it doesn't, you can tighten the PTO by removing the large pipe plug on the back of the PTO housing and tightening the adjustment ring. More detailed instructions can be found on this page. http://olivergang.org/discus/messages/257/394.html#POST634 The PTO in the 2050 adjusts exactly like the one in the picture. If tightening the PTO clutch doesn't do the job, the a rebuild is in order. It's not too hard, just drain the rear end oil, remove the shaft that goes from the PTO unit to the engine, securely attach a suitable lifting device, remove the bolts and pull it out. If you are going to rebuild the PTO clutch yourself, I would highly recommend getting the service manual. You'll be able to get the manuals you need by going to our links page and clicking the link for the Floyd County Museum. |

I'm sorry, above I said that the PTO in the 2050 adjusts like the one in the picture. So does the 1850, the one in the picture is of a 2050. |
