Much to my amazment, after having a lot of fun this winter plowing snow. I lost the hydraulics. The fluid level was down pint so I added it. My three point will barely lift and it will not lift the loader off the ground. All this after buying a loader, bucket, hydraulic cover plate, and shop time to have the pump rebuilt six months ago. At this point I am getting the picture that I am trying to do the wrong thing with this tractor. My question is after I pay to have this tractor hauled back to the shop and the pump rebuilt again, do I take the next step and have a pump mounted in front and loader and bucket hydraulics fed off from that? Where do I find these parts? I don't think I will be up to rebuilding this internal pump every six months.

I don't remember, were you using a factory external valve? What ever external valve you use, it must have a relief valve built into it, and it the relief needs to open around 1750 psi. If it doesn't have this, the pump will blow out.

It could also be a stuck or broken servo valve for the three point. This could allow oil to dump back to the reservior. Unfortunately, you are looking at having the three point taken off, but the pump may not be the culprit. Also, check the hydraulic filter. I have seen these collapse from cold oil going through them. You may have a restriction there.

The loader will be faster with an external pump, but if everything is working properly, you shouldn't be having problems with the set up you have now.

The shop picked it up and returned it all in one week. I am impressed. They said the pump "blew Up" They replaced the pump "warrantied it" and added a return line. I am not sure where the extra return line is running or doing as I haven't seen it yet. It now is supposed to have maximum lifting pressure for the loader and 3 point.

Great. Who fixed it? I like to hear about places that take care of their customers.

The Chetek co-op in Ridgeland Wisconsin fixed it. Both Mechanics Jim and Gene have treated me right there. I have found that it is one of the few garages in the area that have this type of Oliver expertise.

Off topic, but maybe you can help Mr. Knowlton. I saw Chetek and thought about a waste oil burner we used to have at the dealership I worked at that was made in Chetek. I think it was a Kutrieb. It worked well and wasn't the least bit picky about the viscosity of the oils put into it, unlike the ones available now. Have you heard of them, and are they still in bussiness?

I haven't heard of them although I had a cabin there for about 6 years. There is some type of metals or pipe manufacturing factory there. I will check into it and let you know.
