Hi, I need the tractor manual that goes with the Oliver 500 (1961), and/or can someone just tell me where the hydraulic pump is located on the tractor...;) Something is amiss with box-blade, it kind of shakes on it's way up and then just continues to whine, am I right to be looking into the hydraulics??? (Please, no one roll your eyes, I am a girl, and this is my first tractor, but I am a quick study!)... Just need someone to point me in the right direction! Well, actually it would be a lot nicer if someone would just fix it for me, well anyone other than the guy down the road who wants $200 just to look at it!!! >laughs at the thought<>growls at the guy down the road<>puts on a smoldering smile<>crosses fingers<>hopes for help< Nikki | ||

Nikki, are you sure of the model number? Could it be a 550? If so the pump is under the transmission cover. | ||

Its been too many years sice I played with a David Brown [500 oliver] Try posting in yesterdays tractor under Case [David Brown ] heading and Elmer will soon set you up with the info. It could be just low oil /dirty filter / water in oil problem. Case dealer may have some info but most in USA just have a blank look on David Browns. | ||

Though,if anyone else has any information on the tractor in general I would love to hear about it, I am getting all caught up in the history of the tractor now and would love to see pictures of what it originally looked like. Also, a thank-you to Elmer, who is helping me obtain the manuals that I am sure I will use many times in the future... Thanks Guys!!! >smiling< Nikki | ||
