I am working on the hydraulic pump on this 77. The pump halfs appear to not use a gasket or any sealer between them. Is that right. I am putting some speedi sleaves on the oil pump shaft under the new garlic seals. The three nuts that hold the pump to the hydraulic unit are castellated but there are no holes in the studs to saftey the nuts to. Any help out there would be appreciated. Thanks Dennis the Menance |

No the pump does not use any gaskets between the center plate and end plates. That I know of, the studs never had a place for safety wires. There is no need for it. The nuts you are talking about are the correct ones. |

Sorry I forgot to mention one other thing. DO NOT use sealer between the pump bodies either or you might as well not put the pump back together. It was surface ground and lapped so it would not need any gaskets or sealer. |
