Moved 1610 loader from Oliver 77 to 1650. Loader worked perfect on 77 but the front hydraulics that work the bucket will no longer work correctly. We switched the lift hydraulics with bucket hydraulics and that did not make a difference for the bucket. The lift hydraulic cylinders worked perfect on both sets of tractor hydraulics. We switched hoses at connections and even took hoses off at cylinders. Bucket cylinders will work if one hose is disconnected from cylinders but boy the fluid we lost doing this test. Problem is not at the tractor end but something in the bucket hydraulic end?

My son thinks the problem is a defective male nipple at the connection end? Plugs in and out ok? I'm wondering if when we replace the actual bucket with a straight (not bent up)one if the self adjusting cylinders (correcting for the unevenness of the old bucket on the cylinders)cause the fluid flow to be restricted by something?

Old bucket was in an accident my father had with the loader which prevented the left side bucket hydraulic cylinder from going all the way back in by 2 inches. After installing the new bucket the cylinder corrected itself but will not work anymore?

Any suggestions?

Your son may be right. The male nipple can plug in ok, but still not unseat the ball in the end of it, so oil won't go through, even though it is hooked up. It's a cheap and easy thing to check before tearing into to many other things.

Could be the interlock bleed screws are turned out on the tractor. But I'd try the new nipple first.
