You can fix this a couple of ways. The first is to get a new lock nut that uses a nylon ring to lock it. It is best to run the nut down a bolt to set the threads into the nylon. Then use this nut to replace the one that is leaking. It would be a good idea to replace the copper crush washer that goes behind the nut while you are at it. I have done this on a few of my Olivers, and it is a cheap easy fix. The other option is to go to your AGCO White dealer and order the new style nut. This new one is a long nut that is open only on one end. It eliminates the need to seal the threads, as the only place oil can escape is at the copper washer. This style is a little harder to adjust, should the need arise, but less likely to leak. |
