Has any one ever heard of of using some type of a hydraulic ram on a backblade? I currently have the blade hooked up with just a turnbuckle, and there doesn't seem to be enough downward pressure to dig into the soil.If not a hydraulic ram, are there any other suggestions? |

Most tractors, including the 1365 had no way to put down pressure on the three point hitch. All you would do with a hydraulic cylinder in place of the top link is change the angle of the blade relative to the tractor. My suggestions are to either buy a new cutting edge for your back blade, adding some weight to it somehow, or look into buying a box scraper. A box scraper has a set of teeth in front of the blade to help break up the soil. I have heard they work great. Woods makes a very rugged box scraper that can be viewd at http://www.woodsonline.com and then click on turf and grounds products and then click landscape equipment and then on box scrapers. There are other manufacturers too, but I have always been impressed with the durable construction of the woods product. Hope this helps |
