Does anyone have a 14" or 16" Oliver chainsaw for sale at a fair price? |

I was under the impression that Oliver didn't go ahead with the chain saw. The story goes, they made the literature for them, sent it out to the dealers, and dealer response was poor, so they gave up that idea. I can't remeber what company was going to make them for Oliver. I did see one at a show, but the owner told me that he had bought a saw sold under the manufacturers name, and painted it green and put some decals on it. If anybody has any more info, or can verify they did make a chainsaw, please, let us know. |

I recieved an email from Sherry Schaefer about the chainsaw. Here's what she had to say. "There were actually a few Oliver chainsaws built. They were not distributed publically but a few locals had some of them in their possession when the chainsaw factory burned to the ground. That was the end of the project. I'm sure that the lack of response by the public had something to do with it too. They were built in Clinton, Michigan by Clinton." She is researching the chainsaw for an article in the next issue of the HPOCA magazine. So make sure your membership is up to date, or become a member of the Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association. There's a link to the HPOCA web site on the links page of this site. |
