Hello: Just got an old HG-68 #13062. Previous owner has been greasing all the bottom lube fittings, idler wheels, springs, wheel bearings etc. rather than using the specified SAE 40 oil. I've got a feeling oil will run out as soon as it goes in due to years of wear. Is grease acceptable for this? Anyone else doing this? Same SAE 40 is called for in the final drive and trans/differential. Would a 90 weight gear oil be acceptable for year round use? Tractor will be used for plowing snow in the Adirondacks. Thanks for any feedback. HP |

Hopefully someone else can answer you question, because I know very little about the crawlers. You might want to go to http://www.cletrac.org and ask on their message board. Someone there should have an answer for you. |
