Does anyone have photo's of an Oliver 840 self propelled harvester? I've found a picture in an I&T magazine from 1969, and have just come across a picture of one with a cab on the www.toytractorshow.com website. If there's any info on these machines let me know. Thanks. |

I have a picture of one that was for sale earlier this year. I don't have much info on these units. They were apparently made at the Shelbyville plant. And while Oliver built them, they were basically a copy of a Fox forage harvester. So much so that heads would interchange. They were only made for 2 years, and I would guess that there were less than 1000 units made. |

Just got some more info from a reliable source (BA Star) Drive train components, frame, rear axle, and operators platform were from combines. There were 92 Olivers, 9 built as Minnie Mo's, and 1 lone Cockshutt version. I think it is safe to say that they are rare. |

The I&T article (July 1968) also indicated those parts were pulled from the combine shelves. 92 of them you say, eh? |
