According to my parts book, the 1550 and 1650 used the same transmission frame and the same front frame. I can attest to this, as we got a 1550 utility in that had the reverse idler gear bearing pillows broken off the rest of the rear frame. The rest of the tractor was good except the front frame had some goobered welding on it from someone trying to weld the loader to the cast frame. So we took the guts out of that tractor and put them in a 1650 frame that we had in the bone yard. It was quite a bit of labor, but now I have a 1550 utility that runs like a top. Just needs some cosmetic work now.

I would say you've found an Industrial 1650 FWA. If there are any gears left in the front of the tranny, they will be a helical cut, sliding collar type shift for the 1650. The 1550 used a sliding spur gear type transmission.
