I recently purchased an Oliver model 100 3-14 trip plow. The previous owner replaced the 14" shares with 16" shares. One of the shares on the plow has a broken tip and I removed it this past weekend. On the share it says Raydex R16 and has 3 bolts. I found Oliver 14" plow shares in the Shoup catalog, but they are 4 bolt. The catalog says that the 4 bolt can be used to replace a 3 bolt share? Is that correct? Does anyone have any other sources for plow shares?

Thanks - Mark

You can use the 4 bolt shares. If you really want 3 bolt shares you can get them at a New Holland dealer. Ford used Raydex bottoms for their "blade share" as opposed to cast share bottoms. You may still be able to order then through an aftermarket vendor like Adams or Weise as well.

I don't think the shoup plow shares have pressed in bolts, so you can just leave the 4th bolt out and use the other 3 holes. I checked a 4 bolt and 3 bolt share today and the 3 holes line up good. The 4th one is closest to the landside.

Don't forget to get left hand plow bolts. I had a discussion with a partsman today about plow bolts. He claimed it didn't matter but his boss said if he sold custamers right hand ones he bought the next shear when they lost the first one!! I didn't have enough left bolts last fall so used two rights to try and finish field .I lost right ones in two rounds!
