How difficult is it to add a seperate hydraulics for loader on 1755 oliver?

You can have up to 4 valves on a closed center 55 series. Scavenge salvage yards for extra valve bodys and levers. Just make sure that if one is a float valve that it goes on the outside. Your other option is to tap into the tube that runs behind the seat and supplys the valve stack you currently have. You then use a seperate closed center valve. Make sure you route the return from the valve into the port on the lower LH side of the resevoir body so there is no restriction to the return flow (you had to do that when using a valve on chopper knife sharpeners etc. also).

Ian is right with what he said. If you want a separate pump and hydraulic system, then I would recommend a pump that mounts on the front of the tractor and runs off the front of the engine crankshaft.

The hydraulics on a 1755 should be sufficient to run a loader. Are the restrictors turned out on the remote valves?

I'll try to get a picture of the remotes to show where the resitrictor is.

Did you get the hydraulic pump staightened out yet? How is the loader performing now?

Chris,

Wound up putting a new pump on out of frustration. The loader is lifting well, but it is noisy when using. I hate strange noises on any of my tractors and rather have them perfect. Mechanic was rushing off for a month of fishing! Wish I lived near you!!!!!!!

It doesn't take much air getting into those closed center pumps to make a lot of noise. Air in the system makes a chattery kind of noise.

Closed center pumps do make a bit of a whine even when they are operating normally, but nothing outrageous.

Is the hydraulic oil still getting really hot?

I believe everything is working good right now. We had to install a gasket.o-ring behind the pump where it fastens to the tractor. I used the loader yesterday and it did very well. Again, thanks for everything.

Glad to hear that it's up and running.
