I have a very old oliver hay baler that was horse pulled, it has to be loaded by hand and wire tied by hand, it has a hand crank motor with a wide belt, someone told me it was over a 100 yrs old, how can I get information on this item, I have owned for over 50 yeats. |

If it is an Oliver baler, it can't be much older than 70. The Oliver Farm Equipment Company that formed from a merger in 1929, didn't buy the Ann Arbor Baler company until a year or two after that merger. But it would still be around that age, as by the 1940's and 1950's, many balers were automatic tying and pulled by a tractor. Here is a picture of an Oliver model 40 baler that was emailed to me some time ago. Some where on the machine there should be a serial number tag. It will probably have the model number. With that info, I might be able to help more. |
