A funny thing happened when I was putting the final drive back together. Earlier I had removed a loose rivet on the bevel gear and replaced it with a bolt and jam nut. Well, when I put the bull gear in I noticed right away there was going to be a conflict with the jam nut and the bull gear. Ouch! So I had to take out the differential again. Easy solution was to reverse the bolt so that the nut was on the left side of the bevel gear. Plenty of clearance. So, if anyone ever replaces the rivets with bolts, run the bolt the opposite direction of the rivet, with the head to the right side of the tractor. |

Thanks for the tip, and sorry about not mentioning that before. Sometimes a guy (me) can take things for granted when he's trying to describe something. |

Hey Chris, remember you told me that you knew a fellow that painted his tractor with spray cans? I don't know if you were joking, but as I work on the tractor I clean up the parts I have removed and repaint them. I have a gallon of the Oliver green, but because I'm not painting all of them at once I end up using the spray cans. I might be the second person you know that did that. However, I did use up part of the gallon on the rims. |

No, I wasn't kidding. As a matter of fact, some of this gentleman's collection was on the cover of the May/June cover of the HPOCA magazine. I've seen some of them up close and they look great. Hope it works as good for you. |
