Great website! I have a 2150FWA I purchased late last fall. During the colder months it would leak a small amount of oil at each of the oil filter bases for a few moments after starting. The filters are tight, and the leaks do not seem to come from the gaskets at the bottom of the spin-on filters. The oil appears to weep up from the outer edge of the sheetmetal discs which appear to be pressed into the large cast iron base. I have not yet taken the filters off, nor have I given this much attention, as it quit leaking once the weather got warmer. How do I fix this? |

The next time you change the oil filters look and see if where the filter threads on doesn't have a hex that would remove that threaded fitting. I believe those sheet metal discs have a gasket under them. If you unscrew that fitting that will let those discs come out. WB. |

Wrenchbender is correct. That sheetmetal disc is an updated item so that spin-on filters can be used instead of the canister/sock-type filter. The reason it leaks when it's first started is the oil pressure can get a little high while the oil is cold and thick. |

Thanks to BA Star for pointing out to me there was a service bulletin that covered this problem. The big problem is it involves drilling a larger hole in the block so the oil pan needs to be removed to get any drillings cleaned out. Here is ther service bulletin that covers this problem. Hope this helps |
