Can any one tell me where i can get replacment gages for a 1650 or do any of you have a secret tip for getting the rust off the chrome ring around the gage. Chris thanks for the info on the hydra-lectric. |

Try www.ricksagriparts.com for the gauges. They have reproductions of the ones for the 50 and 55 series Olivers. I have had good luck using steel wool to get rust off from chrome. I then use car wax to inhibit the rust from re-forming. |

You can also try "skotch-brite" available at Grainger or most commercial suppliers. Get the commercial stuff, NOT consumer items. This removes the rust and blends the pitting so it gives a smoother looking surface. The car wax is a great idea for prevention. To really do it right, remove the gage from the panel and make sure you have all of the contact edges coated. When I was doing cars, clear fingernail polish works really well on the edges (doesn't chip or wear off). |
