I am restoring a 2 bottom 3pt hitch rollover plow. The plow has a sleeve bearing and roller chain and sprocket assembly which uses the stroke of the missing hydraulic cylinder to roll the plow frame. The plow has 419-16 moldboards and just enough green paint to make one believe it is an oliver. I have been told it may be a 6340/41/42. Would restoration parts be hard to come by? Thanks for any info.

I would say it is a 6240 Oliver plow. Especially if it is a truss frame instead of a beam type frame. Here is some info about it.
6240

The literature I have for the 6341 indicates that it was either 3 or 4 bottoms.

The 6342 eliminated the chain and sprocket assembly and used just an 8 inch stroke cylinder in it's place.

Normal wear parts aren't too hard to come by, although the parts for the left hand bottoms are close to twice as expensive as their right handed counterparts. The hydraulic cylinder is a standard 3x8 inch hydraulic cylinder. Some of the other parts in the roll-over mechanism may be a little harder to come by. The rest of the parts should be the same as the regular one way plows. Hopefully you will be able to determine which model you have from the pictures.

Thanks for all the great info. Based on the pictures the plow is a 6240. I will start gathering the parts to put it back in working order.

No trouble in getting wear parts for restoring the plow. The plow does have a 3x5 box beam frame that the moldboards are attached so I do not think it is a 6240 after all. Did Oliver make a 6241? It looks very similar to the 6341 but appears to have been a 3 bottom at one time. Also it looks like I will have to widen up my tractor wheels to make it work correctly. Is there any adjustments to allow for keeping my current 41 inch inside to inside tread width? Thanks for any info.

I have no information on a 6241, but that doesn't mean there was no such thing.
The 6341 was a 3 bottom, but could be made into a 4 by adding a bottom. Since yours is a 2 bottom, maybe someone did a little homemade adjustment and cut the 3rd bottom off.

There is no way to adjust the plow to your tread width. Any adjustment you would make one way, would throw it off by that much more the other way. The wheels need to be 80 inches from center to center to get the plow to work correctly.

I contacted the people at Floyd County. Plow is a 6241.Was able to get operating and parts manual that will help in restoration. Thanks for all the info.
