I am in the process of overhaul and restore of Super 55 Oliver 1955 and noticed the three point hitch does not lift.
Replaced oil with new when had the top off transmission to replace seals and a bull gear with broken tooth. Had engine running for a while at different rpms but no movement to lift. Any easy way to detemine if pump is ok? Suspect relief valve may be stuck as the tractor sat for maybe 15 years without running. Doing engine overhaul at moment but should be able to see movement while cranking over with starter. Is there any checks I can do without disassembly and if not what should I look for if I do have to disassemble.
Thanks

There is a plug on the right side of the hydraulic housing where the remote valve would attach. It would be under your right leg while sitting on the seat. Remove it and then crank the motor over. Oil should squirt out of this port, even using the starter. You might want to put a hose on the port to control where the oil goes while you are doin this. If you can't get oil from there, then something is definitely wrong on the inside.
