It finally wentare there supposed to be a bearing on top of box? my lower worm bearing was destroyed and there wasn't much up top.also had water in case. all else seems ok is it alright to just do worm gear bearings or should have I whole thing torn down? | ||

There is supposed to be a bearing on top of the worm gear box, just like the one on the bottom of it. Below is a blow up of the picture from the parts book covering the steering box.  Here is the whole page.  If it were mine, I would completely disassemble it to get it all cleaned up while I had it torn down. It's a lot easier than wishing you had if something else goes wrong in there. | ||
