My tractor will start and run very well for 30 to 50 seconds then die suddenly. If I choke-it, it will start right back up and run for 30 to 50 seconds again and then die. I have disconnected fuel line at carburetor and getting good flow. Sediment bowl is clean now, but has been bad. Any ideas?

I had the same thing happen to my 770 last fall. There was a piece of crud restricting the fuel flow at the seat inside the carb. Plus the needle was hanging a little from the gas in the carb being old. This was allowing some fuel in, and the carb bowl would fill up, but once the engine was running, it would use up the gas faster than it was being replaced.
Take the carb off the tractor and disassemble it. Clean out any crud and then reassemble it. If the gaskets are ok, I would try putting it back together without using a rebuild kit first. I have done several this way and if the carb still is giving trouble, then I'll spend the money on the kit.

Let us know if you need any help with the tear-down of the carb.
