Serial # 0235-142314 says it's an 88 Row Crop, lettering says it's a Super 88??? Comments? |

From the serial number, it looks to be a 1952. It is definitely a Fleetline 88. There are no mounting pads on the front frame to indicate it is a Super. This tractor, like so many of the time, was repainted to look like the newer triple digit tractors (660, 770, etc..). From the picture I can see the red paint showing through the white on the rear wheels. I'm sure if you do a little scratching, there is yellow paint under the white on the grille. Thanks for posting the picture. Do the hydraulics work? I see it has the hydra-lectric switches on the steering column. Some still work, but many failed through the years and were replaced with the newer style units. |

So that will need some attention soon. I'm not sure if it is still controlled by the switches or not. I'll have to find out; or better yet get mother-in-law to chime in here. :-) I saw a hydraulic rebuilding video for sale here and I'm wondering if it's step by step enough for some one (me) who's never had something like that apart. Thanks for the input. Rob |
