I'm a new Oliver owner twice over. I just recently got my dream tractor, an 1850--I've been drooling over them for several years. I also just got a 351 mower. The guy I bought it from told me it was set up for a 1650 and that I would have to make modifications to the third link, but he wasn't to clear as to what or how. The mower is in good shape and I plan on using it as soon as I can get it set up --- but I sure don't want to butcher it up. Any and all help will be greatly apreciated. Thanks, Paul C. While the third link is different between the 1850 and 1650, where they hook up to the mower should be the same. Floyd County Museum should be able to get you the manuals that would have all of the needed setup information. Check out their web site at http://www.catt.org/olivertractormanuals.htm If he happened to sell you a top link to a 1650 with the mower, just replace it with a regular top link. And if you are interested in selling the 1650 top link (if you have one) let me know, I'm short one. And thanks for the compliments. Oliver buttered our bread in more ways than one for many years. Even now I still use Olivers on my farm. I think you'll find that there are many more of us 'odd men out' out there. Thanks again. |
