I just picked up two Oliver 70's One is a 1946 rc, and the other is a rc single front wheel. My question is the serial # for the single wheel front says its a 1936 standard does this take away from the value and how do I know the true year of the tractor? It has a cast grill and cast centers for rear wheels. Thanks for any help. |

You could say that you have the only old style standard with a single front wheel!!! How much rarer can they be? Honestly though, the serial number difference is going to detract from the value of the tractor. But they only used the cast iron grille for 3 or so years (1935-37). So the tractor is about the same age as its' engine. You might be able to find a casting date on the bottom side of the transmission housing that will let you know the year of the rest of the tractor. It would be worth more as a standard, but the unstyled (1935-37) 70's, also known as Hart-Parr Oliver 70's, are worth more than the later styled models. You still have a tractor with some value. |
