On the right-rear, of the rear frame, there is a small breather for the tranny. There is a metal cap, a small metal tube, with a 5/16 cap screw and internal lock washer that holds the filter element in place. This filter is no longer available from Agco. What are people putting in its place?

You could put on a breather like was used on the 1855 hydraulic unit cover. The element part number is 104792A. I'm sure it will cross over to something else. The same element is used in the hydra power drive and the over-under unit on the top of the dipstick.

This element may be a little bigger than the one on the Super 55, but it uses a 5/16" cap screw to hold it on, so you might need the metal cap to cover it too. I'll try to check on my tractors tomorrow.

I just replaced mine, Maibach's sold me a cap and filter that looks about the same and is a little bigger in diameter. Unless you are measuring, it looks the same. Paint it green and you can't tell

After looking at my tractors, I think what you got was the parts I listed above.

When we restored our Super 55, it had the original wood breather element. We just washed it out with some mineral spirits and reused it. Haven't had any problems.

Thanks for the info Mark.

Thanks for the information. I'll give Maibach's a call.
