I just got a #2 subsoiler yesterday. It is rope trip and in very good shape. I was wondering what information anyone can give me about it. About when was it made, Are they very common, and what is the correct paint code for the green on it? Any other info is very much appreciated.

Here is a scan of the peice of #2 subsoiler literature that I have.

The literature is dated 2-54. I don't have any information on the number of years produced or actual production numbers. I have seen a few at shows, but I think this is mainly because they are easy to restore and haul. My thoughts are that they aren't very common, just from the fact that the subsoiler was an idea that was ahead of it's time.

I would use the same meadow green that you would paint a 1954 Super 88. Check out http://www.oliverinformation.com for the proper paint codes.
