I have two problems. First the tractor had sat up for quite some time but it it start with a new battery and some coaxing. However, the inside of the fuel tank had rusted from condensation and after only a short period of running the carb clogged. I cleaned the carb and reinstalled it and flushed the tank but it hasn't hit a lick since. Can someone tell me a good starting point for the idle and air screws? Second, for the short period of time the tractor did run, I noticed the lift starts at the dirt on the low end and at the high end does not come up high enough to even hook a disc turning plow much less high enough to pick it up off the ground. I don't have a clue as to where to start looking on this one. If you can give me any info please contact me at fcgodfre@altamaha.net. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. |

I would turn the idle screw out about 1 to 1-1/2 turns, and the load screw 2-1/2 to 3 turns to start with and adjust from there. You can gain some height by shortening the links between the lift arms and the 3 point arms. If you can lift the 3 point arms up quite a ways beyond what the tractor will, you need to extend the turnbuckle on the left rear of the three point housing. See the picture below. I had to adjust mine and it was rusted to the point of not turning. But a little heat changed it's mind about that. Just extend the turnbuckle until you can still lift the top of the lift arms 1 to 2 inches for free play. If you adjust the lift too high, it can 'bottom out' on the inside of the tractor and possibly break something. It will also cause excessive heat in the hydraulic system. Just be sure to have some free travel in there or you will have trouble. If you have any more questions, just let us know. |

Thanks. Using your suggestions it will now start and run. Just need to do some fine tuning as it runs a little rough yet. I haven't tried the turnbuckle yet as like yours it doesn't want to turn, but it appears to be run all the way to it's shortest demension. Thanks again |
