Can anyone tell me about the 520-T baler. I just got one today with a model 19 bale thrower on it. It is in extremly good condition and been shedded all its life. Are ther quite a few around that are twine tie? Who would have a good supply of parts?
Thanks,
Geoffrey Heck

I would guess that the majority of 520's were twine. By that era, wire tie balers were just about a thing of the past. I've never seen a 520 in my area, but that is probably because if there's one piece of equipment that finds its way into a barn, it is the square baler. Kinda hard to see them through closed doors.
I have a 720 with a number 19 thrower on it. When baling straw, you could haul two wagons and fill the back one first if you wanted to. The baler didn't miss a single knot last year.

It was either Massey Ferguson or Hesston that bought the baler line from Oliver. I can't remember which, but it seems like it was Hesston. Either way, you are looking at going to an AGCO dealer. Some parts are still readily available, but some parts may be hard to find. The best place would be an old Oliver dealer that sold alot of balers.
Congratulations on your purchase.

Just curious, but what did the baler end up costing?

It cost $140. I tought it was a pretty good deal. It also looks good blocking my driveway. I bet dad's thrilled.
