If you have a hydraulic unit, you'll have to pull the PTO shaft that goes from the rear of the crawler to the flywheel on the engine. To remove this shaft, remove the round cover on the PTO unit on the back. Once this is removed, you will be able to see the PTO clutch. In front of that is a bearing retainer that has 3 bolts in it. Remove the 3 bolts and then pull the PTO clutch and shaft as an assembly. They can be a little stubborn, so a small prybay may be needed to get it to come out. Once the PTO shaft is removed, all you need to do is remove all of the bolts around the base of the hydraulic unit and lift it out. Have you taken the shift lever out to see if the shift rails are lined up properly? Sometimes removing the shift lever and using a long screwdriver to get the slots in the rails lined back up is all it takes to fix a problem like this. |
