The 2655 was the Oliver version of the Minneapolis Moline A4T-1600. It was also produced as the White Plainsman. Here is a scan of the literature (thank you to Danny Bowes).

Here is a picture of one that was sold at an auction last fall.

You could get them with or without a cab, diesel or LP gas. The tractor was originally of Minneapolis Moline design, so very few parts would be compatible with the other Oliver tractors.
Oliver Gang member Ken Guile has taken his to the Oliver Gang Fun and Plow day for the last 2 years, so pictures of his 2655 in action can be found in the photo section of our site. I also have a video clip of him taking a pulling sled out the end of the track if anybody is interested in seeing it.

Here is the information I have, which is from the book, "Oliver Hart-Parr" by C. H. Wendel.

"A big 585 cubic inch engine was used in the Oliver 2655, also known as the White Plainsman, and the Minneapolis-Moline A4T-1600. Built by the WFE plant formerly operated by Minneapolis-Moline, it could be furnished with LP-gas or diesel engines. The LP-gas version carried a 4 5/8 x 5 inch bore and stroke. Operating at 2,200 rpm, it delivered about 169 PTO horsepower. The White Plainsman was offered only in 1970, and this model was also available that year with the special Heritage color scheme. Except for the red, white and blue paint, the Heritage tractors were identical to their equivalent models painted in their ordinary colors.

Oliver 2655 tractors were indentical to the Minneapolis-Moline A4T. The latter was offered in the 1969-71 period, while the 2655 was built only in 1971. This model was built in a naturally aspirated diesel with a 4 5/8 x 5 inch bore and stroke; at 2,200 rpm it delivered 139 horsepower, but the turbocharged model put out 151 horsepower. Priced at about $15,000 the Oliver 2655 weighed in at over 17,000 pounds. During Nebraska Test No. 1070 this tractor manifested over 123 drawbar horsepower, and made a maximum drawbar pull of 18,236 pounds."

Here are the videos. They may take a few minutes to download. Sorry about the smudge that was on the lens.
