In the market for a used backhoe and heard of a '75 or '76 1550 for sale for $5,500. I thought this was a little late for the model and a little high for the price given what I've seen in these threads. Does anyone know what years this model was manufactured? Also, I hesitate going with a gas engine (6-cylinder) versus diesel-so any words of encouragement would be helpful-would think I'd be giving up a lot of power. I don't know much about the condition yet, but I would appreciate any thoughts specific to the model. Also, any sense of the market value for one in "good condition"? Thank you very much. |

Unless you are using it hundereds of hoursa year, I'd be happier with gas now. Easier to repair fuel system by yourself, and at least around here gas is over a dollar a gallon cheaper. -50 series was done in 1969. |
