If you are just replacing the chain, it's pretty straight forward. Reach in there, remove the cotter pins, slide the pins out of the chain and pull it out. The coupler will turn one way as long as the tractor is in neutral, so you can turn it by hand to roll the chain around it. Roll the new one on and put the pins back in. Make sure the cotter pins have their heads facing the direction of travel. So when they are on the top, the head will be pointing to the left side of the tractor. They will be a lot less likely to come out that way. The long cotter pin goes through the two connector pins to keep them from turning. If you need to change the sprockets, then the motor will have to come out for that. |
