I have a 1958 Oliver 550 w/ gas engine. I had the clutch rebuilt a couple of summer ago but am now having troubles with the PTO. It seems like the pto clutch is slipping. My bushhog will bog down in heavy grass and now won't start spinning again when I lift the deck or back up to a spot that has been mowed. Any suggestions will be appreciated. | ||

So it won't turn at all now? That doesn't sound good. You could try tightening up the PTO clutch pack, it tells how to do it in the owners manual. You can also read up on it some at this archived post: http://olivergang.org/discus/messages/257/394.html You'll have to type that in. I have link activation turned off because of the spammers. It turns when I first engage the clutch but stops under load. I'll try adjusting the clutch. Thanks. I won't be able to get to it until next week some time. I'll let you know how I make out. | ||
