My starter on my 1365 makes what I would describe as a grinding noise when I try to start it. It seems like the starter is trying to engage the flywheel but will not turn it. I took the starter off and found that the flywheel had the teeth ground on the ends. Anyone know whats going on. Not sure whether it's a starter problem or flywheel. I've seen worse flywheels. Thanks in advance.

Maybe the bushings in the starter are getting worn out and the shaft is sitting crooked in the housing. Could be the lever that kicks the gear into the ring gear is bent or broken, not allowing the teeth to engage. It sounds like a starter problem to me.
