I got the manuals in for my 1650 industrial. Now I'm checking fluids. I find my transmission full of hydraulic fluid. The manual shows 32 qts. of 80/90. It looks like the R-O-T takes 2 1/2 gals. of type "A" ATF? Are any substitutes OK? I read where it said "don't drain the R-O-T...only add". Also I don't find the weight of lube for the transfer case listed.

Well I didn't get any responses regarding the transmission/differential fluid, so I will assume that the manual is correct and replace the hydraulic fluid with 80/90. I'll also replace the filter.

Two quarts of "A" ATF filled the R-O-T.

I topped off the Transfer case with 80/90 and had leakage around the front seal. NAPA ordered two seals. The parts manual looks fairly straight-forward regarding replacing the seals, unless some of you have a secret to share.

You got it right. Basically, any red automatic transmission fluid will be fine in the Reverse-O-Torque.

The transmission and transfer case both take the 80W-90.

It is straight forward to replace those seals. Disconnect the u-joint, remove the nut off the end of the shaft, take the yoke off, and then you can remove the cover that holds the seals by taking the 3 bolts off. Drive the old ones out and the new ones in.

Check the shaft for any end play before you disassemble,as you can take some shims out if the bearings on the output shaft are loose.

Thanks. Those 4 manuals also seem to be well worth the $160 cost. I only wish that the previous owner had them....but then again, If he had, I might not now have that old 1650.
