I found the plate on the steering stating that my Oliver is a 1650. I haven't found anything yet that tells me the HP and manufacturer of the 6 cylinder diesel engine. It is 4wd which tells me that it is the industrial model. Any suggestions? |

Post what the numbers are on that serial plate and I can tell you some more about the tractor. |

It's a 4-78, which is what they called the 1650 industrial at the time. It is mechanical front wheel assist, with the diesel engine and high speed transmission to compensate for the shorter tires. The industrial model number told the drive and engine horsepower. 4-78 = front wheel assist (4 wheel drive) and 78 flywheel horsepower. Most industrials did not have PTO or drawbars, so all they would be concerned with is engine horsepower. The engine was made Oliver/Waukesha, and would be the same as the ag version 1650, if you are looking for parts. Engine parts are readily available from an AGCO dealer. You can locate your closest one at www.agcocorp.com . There are plenty of aftermarket suppliers as well. Check our links page for some of them. If you need more info, just let us know. |
