I just bought what I thought was a super 55 with a loader on ebay. I could not see the grill in the pictures due to the loader. The grill case and the dash appear to be a 550. The model number on the tag is 55-7167 and the serial number is 149 538-019. The seller thought it was a 55. I think it must be a 1964 550. Can anyone set me straight? |

It is a 550 and it is a late 1964 model like late in the fall. Do the thing with Charles City and find out all the information as to build date, etc. |

Thanks John. After scraping away a couple layers of peeling paint I discovered I have a model 578 loader. Would this be an industrial model and would it have been painted yellow originally. Do I need to go to Charles City or is there a way to get information from them some other way. |

I think most Oliver 550 industrials (before White took them over and called it a White 2-44 in 1968/9) were green, but could be any color for a small fee...public works departments etc. would order them in yellow). I don't any of the non-ag 550s were actually called Industrials, but they had the beefed up front axle etc. The 2-44s were yellow as standard but could be ordered in any color for a small fee. |

I traded for an Oliver tractor and don't know the year or the model. I think it is a 550. I found two number sets on the left side of the main frame above the clutch pedal 45-0037 and 143 515 519 Can someone tell me how to find year, model and I would love to see a picture of an original |
