My brother and I are restoring a 1954 Oliver 88. We took the injector pump in to have it tested and wanted them to replace the seals. This is a popular local truck injector service place. They told us that there is no seal kit sold for this old of American Bosch pump and if they could locate a seal kit that we would have to stop using our 20% biodiesel fuel because it destroys the seals over long use. Are they right? Hard to believe there is not a replacement seal kit sold for these old injector pumps plus I have been using biodiesel in my 1650 diesel for 5 years and it has done super in cleaning the fuel system and the tractor runs better than ever. If there is a seal kit where can they be found? Thank you for any information.

Well first why a truck diesel shop? American Bosch has not been used in trucks for several years. Does the tractor start good when HOT? The key part may be the governor shaft, it is NLA. You may need to knurl it to get by. I got a seal kit a couple of years ago.
