I have an 1855 Diesel that the PTO lever won't stay forward (engaged. The PTO does work but you have to hold it forward. Is there an adjustment for the PTO?

Yes there is. Unhook the linkage rod and engage the PTO with a cresent wrench if it stays runing your linkage is out of adjustment. There was another little problem ther but it slips my mind at the minute. Is this an early or late 1855> |

It is a 1970 model 1855. I have tried adjusting the linkage but it didn't work. When I adjusted it out the PTO it didn't work any better and the PTO wouldn't shut off. When I engage the PTO it just doesn't feel like the is enough pressure on the lever. |
