I am trying to add external hydraulics to my super 55. I removed the external hydraulic cover from the side of the hydraulic tank. I found two port holes. I assumed that the bottom port is the supply and the top is the return. I made a block to mount in place of the cover and added my valves. I finally got it all put together. When I start the tractor everything seems to work fine. The external valves work great. The problem I have is when I start to lift the three point, my return line filter blows off and oil goes everywhere. Does anyone have an idea as to why this might happen? Am I correct in thinking that the bottom port is supply and the top port is return or does the top port get pressure while running the three point? |

O. K. Where does the return line enter the tractor? Are you using a power beyond valve? If your filter is on the outlet side of the remote valve it will blow off because that line is under high pressure when you use the 3 point as that line now is the pressure line for the 3 point. |

Thank you for the reply. I did get all the problems figured out that night. You are correct about the filter being in line with the 3 point pressure. All is working good now. Now I am investigating adding power steering. If you have any tips I would appreciate them. Thanks again for the reply. |
