It has power steering and a pto/3 point hook-up, Can any one tell me what I have?

You have a 1957 Oliver Super 55, by the serial number. The loader is probably a few years newer, which explains the different corporate headquaters on the serial tags. |

Thanks Chris, That makes more since now that I see the Super 55 number list. My tractor is almost identical to a 550 that I looked at up in Walkarusa yesterday, must not be much differance between the Super 55 and the 550. Do you think the 518 number means it is an industrial model? Now that I know what it is it will be easier to find info on it. Thanks again, Rory Kiphart |

The Super 55 became the 550 when Oliver introduced their new three digit tractors in 1958. At first the Super 55 and 550 were nearly identical, except for sheet metal, but in less than a year the 550 got it's engine displacement increased to 155 cubic inches. The 518 code is usually for an ag tractor, my 1957 Super 55 has the same one. Industrial Super 55s generally didn't have 3 point and PTO. It could have been ordered that way and still sold as an Industrial, you never know. |
