Hydralic fluid is somehow getting into the transmission. To finish planting this year I had to drain down the transmission oil and add a little hydralic oil dailey. I'm guessing that hydralic pump seal is leaking but I have strong lift. Need some advice. |

Number one cause is leaking seals in the PTO assembly. |

I agree with John, we had several --55 series tractors and that is the first thing to reseal. We only had one time that the pump was actually leaking. |

Thanks John and Marty. I have a 17-18-1955 Shop Manual. It shows a PTO cross section. Is my 2255 PTO the same? All the internal parts in the cross section are numbered 1 thru 61. If you have a like manual, could you point out which seal is the culprit. I've never been into the PTO. |

Used to come as a kit with all the rings in it. They are "quad" rings, or used to be. I'd replace the brake disc too as long as I had the PTO out of the tractor. |
